Mellow Mike's Items For Sale on eBay
Because I do not have any train layout of my own...
I usually sell my creations to someone who does...
and to discriminating collectors who display them.
MrKluke's Items For Sale on eBay
My online buddy has been at this longer than I have.
It took him over 120 attempts to reach it - but Jeff K
finally broke the prestigious $100 mark with a custom
weathered HO freight car. That means you're popular.
hatcrkrwy's Items For Sale on eBay
Steve's another friend in the "biz" and does good work.
He focuses mainly on Western US railroads. You won't
find the common eBay "make-believe" cars here - Steve
tends to look at photos of real cars - while others do not.
Here is a section for ENDORSEMENTS. The companies that make products
I use which make me look good. I've also included E-tailers that I recommend.
Fallen Flags Prototype Railroad Photo Archives
When I don't have a photo of my own to use in replicating a real freight
car - I browse through the hundreds of photos on George Elwood's site.
Bruce Petty's Los Angeles River Railroads Website
Before I defected to the Inland Northwest, I grew up in these L.A. suburbs.
The L.A. River has been featured in many films and TV series, such as the
Sci-Fi classic Them, and the musical Grease. I would go down in there all
the time as a kid. This site brings back a lot of memories. I never did take
much railfanning pics back then - so this gives me my historical Espee fix.
Great prototype images of modern trains in beautiful rugged scenery. All of my favorite
roads are represented here. When I do my layout - this will be a big help scenery-wise.
Ted Curphey's a railfan photographer whose work focuses on my neck of the woods.
The "Funnel" is an area of the BNSF near Rathdrum, ID, just over the border from me.
Ironically - Ted just got a job with "Uncle Pete" (the Union Pacific). How cool is that!
Marlin Thorman is another regional railfan photographer whose work I admire. If you like
BN and BNSF along with all the assorted potpourri that goes with them - check him out!
Be patient... the opening page takes longer to load than a U-Haul truck on moving day...
unless you're on one of those new-fangled high-speed internet connections.
If you would like to understand more about weathering model trains, or maybe raise your
skill level, I suggest a visit to the above link. The usual gang of weatherers hanging out,
rubbing elbows, and talking shop. Rich Divizio created the forum so that modelers could
network their ideas, and get unabashed critiques. He checks in occasionally.... but you
pretty much have to make due with the aspirant Hummer Dave and the bipolar antics of
Jerry Jackson . Or bandwidth-sucking hothead Aggro. They're an acquired taste, for sure.
That being said, I am not a member there - but a good number of my peers are. You know
how you can like Star Trek - but you wouldn't be caught dead at a Star Trek Convention?
That basically sums it up for me. Follow the signs to the website that Yoda named......
